FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How do I get my nomination submitted if I think that I
am eligible for an award?
Find out how your department/center/college/unit nominates
people. Usually, departments or colleges have award committees.
Find these people and talk to them. Department chairs receive
award information and usually have a call for nominations. If
there is no organized method of submitting award nominations
in your area, talk to your co-workers or others who may wish
to nominate you and work with them to organize your nomination
packet.
2. How do I go about nominating someone for an award?

3. How do I increase my chances of receiving an award?
Follow the directions for the award submission, build your
experience in the areas needed for an award, i.e. community
service, research, quality of work, etc.
4. Will more than the required number of letters of recommendation
increase the person's chance of receiving the award?
No, in most cases the extra letters of recommendation are disregarded.
Submit only the required number of recommendation letters.
5. Can we submit a nomination that was submitted last year?
Yes, you can submit a nomination from last year. The nomination
letter should mention that it is being resubmitted. Make sure
that the person's vita/resume is updated.
6. We weren't able to get all the letters of recommendation
on time. Can we submit them as we receive them?
No, the nomination packets need to be complete at the time
they are submitted.
7. Will late nominations be accepted?
Nominations that are received late are marked "late" and not
considered for the award.
