Listen to Those Who Have Benefited from United
Way on Oct. 6
An informational meeting about how United Way funds help local
citizens will be held at the Memorial Union Gallery at noon on
Oct. 6. Frankee Oleson, United Way Story County executive director,
will speak about the United Way program. Learn how your contributions
have made a difference in individual lives. Iowa State University
is a major employer and last year its employees contributed $265,000,
an increase of 4.68 percent over the previous year. The forum
is sponsored by the P&S Council.
Make A Difference: Volunteer to Serve on a P&S Council Committee
Want
to make a difference but don't have time to serve on the P&S
Council? The council's committees are looking for volunteers
and would like your input as a non-council member. There are
seven standing committees including: awards, communication, compensation
and benefits, peer advisory, policies and procedures, representation,
and retention and recruitment.
If you are interested in participating
in any of these committees as a non-Council member, contact the
2003-04 Council President Kevin Kane at kkane@iastate.edu.

President Geoffroy to Present Cytation Awards to P&S Staff
On Sept. 28 President Geoffroy will recognize eight Cytation
award winners from both July and April. The Cytation award is
presented quarterly to four P&S staff who have been nominated
for their contributions to the university. Winners receive certificates,
a letter from President Geoffroy and a one year membership to
Reiman Gardens.

Fall Convocation to be Held Monday
All P&S staff are welcome
to attend the Fall Convocation on Monday at 3 p.m. in the Memorial
Union, Sunroom. President
Gregory Geoffroy will speak and both faculty and staff will be
honored. Refreshments will be served.
