P&S COUNCIL PRESIDENT OUTLINES GOALS FOR UPCOMING YEAR

One of Kevin Kane's goals this year, as the incoming P&S Council President, is to encourage the council to broaden its perspective about what needs its attention on campus.
" I would like council to be looked upon as a leadership group on campus. To do that, we need to do more than study our own compensation issues," Kane said. "I'd like us to be involved in more university-wide issues, like the decision about the academic calendar, diversity discussions, broader things that affect our university culture." The complete profile is in Inside Iowa State.

COMMUNICATING COUNCIL ACTIVITIES AND ISSUES A PRIORITY FOR P&S COUNCIL

The P&S Council voted on its top three priorities for 2003-2004 at its council meeting on Sept. 4. They are (1) developing a communications plan, to increase visibility and understanding about the P&S Council; (2) broadening the council's focus for the year; and finally, (3) providing professional development to help council members pursue leadership positions.
