"Ready, Set, Grow" was the theme for this year's event which was keynoted by David Williams, an artist, sculptor and poet from Ogden, Iowa, who discussed creativity in the workplace. He also presented breakout sessions on "The Inside Story About Living Outside the Box" and on Project A.W.A.R.E. which has been working to clean up Iowa's waterways.

About 20 breakout sessions were offered on a variety of topics on personal and professional development, and several exhibits and displays also were available. The program concluded with a presentation on plans for the ISU Sesquicentennial Celebration.

MAY OPEN FORUM
The May 3 Open Forum, sponsored by the Professional & Scientific Council, will showcase innovative and successful projects that received 2006-2007 Retention & Recruitment Grants. This is also an opportunity to learn more about how staff can become part of the university's retention and recruitment efforts for students.

The forum will be held at the new Hixson-Lied Student Success Center on Thursday, May 3, in the classroom facilities. The poster session will begin at 11:30 a.m. so that attendees will have time to visit with project grant recipients before the 12:10 p.m. panel discussion on retention best practices. Light refreshments will be served and those attending also will be eligible for door prizes.
