University Budget Discussion at March 2
Open Forum
The University budget for fiscal year 2007 is the topic for an
Open Forum at the P&S Council meeting on Thursday, March 2.
Ellen Rasmussen, assistant provost, and Mark Chidister, assistant
to the president, will lead the discussion at the forum from noon
to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Gallery. Bring your lunch and your
questions.
P&S Voting Available Online Until March 24
It's
time to vote for your P&S Council representative(s) for
2006-2007. Electronic voting on AccessPlus opened Wednesday,
March 1, and runs through Friday, March 24, to go into the system
and cast your vote.
To use the online voting system in AccessPlus, you will need your
University I.D. Number and your University password. After you
log in at http://accessplus.iastate.edu/, select the Employee tab
in the upper right corner, and then select Votes and Surveys from
the list on the left side of the page. This year's ballot requires
that you select the name of each candidate that you want to vote
for, and use the arrow button on the screen to move that candidate's
name to the right side of the screen. After you have selected all
candidates for whom you want to cast votes, click the submit button.
The 2006 Council ballot includes 18 candidates, seeking 13 seats
in all representation areas as follows:
Academic and Research
Eleven candidates, seven seats open. Candidates are Ann Bugler,
Christian Charbonneaux, Lynette Edsall, Jason Follett, Christine
Gemignani, Shirley Huck, Steven Kovarik, Marcia Minear, Pam Owenson,
Mark Reinig, and Brent Swanson.
Business and Finance
One candidate, one seat open. Dan L. Woodin is the candidate.
Extension
One candidate, one seat open. Brenda Schmitt is the candidate.
External Affairs
One candidate, one seat open. Victor Miller is the candidate.
Institute for Physical Research and Technology/Ames Lab
One candidate, one seat open. Kerry Gibson is the candidate.
Student Affairs
Three candidates, two seats open. Candidates are Andrew Alt, Karla
Mae Elling, and Adam Foley.

Professional Development Day is March 28
A Web

P&S staff interested in attending the Professional Development
Day program planned March 28 at the Gateway Center in Ames.
The day's events include a keynote speech by Pat Hurley on the
theme "Get A Life," a luncheon, and a series of workshops.
A detailed agenda with workshop descriptions and a registration
form are linked from the Web site above.
