P&S Council Elections Open
Until March 21
Voting for P&S Council representatives will continue through
Friday, March 21. Your input is important, so please take a few
minutes to cast your vote! Sixteen candidates are on the ballot
for 10 open seats on the Council. Voting online is a quick process
through AccessPlus that can be combined with your logon to view
the Compensation Study Report (more information below).
To vote online, log in to AccessPlus at: http://accessplus.iastate.edu/
Select the Employee tab in the upper right corner, and then select
Votes and Surveys from the list on the left side of the page. You
will see listed only the candidates in your representation area.

Streaming Video Presentation by EVPP Hoffman
ISU Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Hoffman addressed
the P&S Council on March 6 to discuss the recommendations
of the Towers Perrin Study, an examination of the university's
staff compensation structure.

Towers Perrin Report Available Online
The consultant's Summary Report on Competitive Cash Compensation
Analysis for the Iowa State University P&S compensation structure
is now available for review using AccessPlus. To find the link
for the Summary Report after logging in to AccessPlus (https://accessplus.iastate.edu),
click on your "Employee" tab and click on the link "P&S
Comp Study" along the left side of the screen.
In addition to the Summary Report, a link to a Feedback Form (Microsoft
Word doc) is available to assist in providing feedback regarding
the Summary Report. The Summary Report is available for review
and comment through April 7, 2008.
The video stream and PowerPoint slides for Executive Vice President
and Provost Hoffman's presentation on March 6, 2008, are available
on the P&S Council website, http://www.pscouncil.iastate.edu/
Compensation Analysis Open Forums March 17 and 26
Open Forums have been scheduled to provide an opportunity for the
Iowa State University community to ask questions after having
time to review the Competitive Cash Compensation Analysis Summary
Report on AccessPlus:
Monday, March 17, 12 noon-2:00 p.m. - 2055 Hoover Hall (A consultant
representative will be here to present information on the methodology)
Wednesday, March 26, 12:30-2:30 p.m. - 2055 Hoover Hall (A panel
of ISU personnel will answer questions and provide information)
Professional Development Day
April 1 at Gateway
The impact of technology on our lives and its implications in
a rapidly changing world will be the focus of the annual Professional
Development Day planned for ISU Professional and Scientific staff.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
April 1, at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center.
The day's featured speakers include Michael Bugeja, Director,
Greenlee School of Journalism; Scott McLeod, Director, Center for
the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership; and Floyd Davenport,
Manager, ISU Extension Information Technology. Participants also
will be able to select from 20 workshops scheduled during the day.
Early registration deadline is March 24.
Cost is $75 before March 24; $85 after. To register online, go

2007 Flexible Spending Accounts Deadline: March 31
2007 Flexible Spending Account eligible expenses must be submitted
for reimbursement no later than March 31, 2008.

Budget Forum April 3
Ellen Rasmussen, Associate Vice President for Budgeting and Planning,
will be on hand to discuss the FY09 budget at the P&S Council
Open Forum on Thursday, April 3. The forum is from 12 to 1 p.m.
in the Memorial Union Gallery.
Next P&S Council Meeting: April 3, 2008
The next P&S Council meeting is at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April
3, 2008 in the Memorial Union Pioneer Room.
