Committees Need P&S Representatives
The beginning of a new academic year in the fall also will mark
the beginning of a new cycle for the standing committees that are
part of the P&S Council and for several all-University committees
that include P&S Council representatives.
The P&S Council standing committees include Council members
and also non-council members who are interested in the activities
of the Council. The standing committees are awards, representation,
communications, policies and procedures, retention and recruitment,
compensation and benefits, and peer advisory. All Council members
serve on at least one of the committees, and most committees also
include members who are not on the council.
P&S staff interested in serving on any of the above committees
can find additional information about the committees under the
Committees button on the P&S Council Web page: http://www.pscouncil.iastate.edu.
Representation Committee Chair Tom Hillson, hillson@iastate.edu,
can provide information on how to apply for committee service.
In addition to the Council's standing committees, the Council
appoints P&S representatives to about 15 all-university committees.
Those appointees are asked to make regular reports to the Council
on the activities of their committees, and those reports are available
online, linked from the following page: http://www.pscouncil.iastate.edu/UnivCommittees.html
Vacancies for P&S staff currently exist on three of the all-university
committees: the Library Committee, the Traffic Appeals Board, and
the P&S Professional Development Committee (Student Affairs
representative). Anyone interested in serving on any of those committees
also can contact the representation committee.
Next Council Meeting is June 26
The P&S Council will hold its next regular business meeting
as part of a day-long retreat on Monday, June 26, at the Iowa 4-H
Camping Center, west of Luther in Boone County. The business meeting
is scheduled from 12 to 12:30 p.m. and is open to anyone interested
in attending. The next scheduled meeting of the Council is on Aug.
3 in the Memorial Union Gallery.
