University Committee on Child Care
Lynne Mumm, 294-6339
The University Child Care Committee in coordination with the
University Committee on Women officially began its “Fowl
Play” fundraiser
on Nov. 1, 2005. The University Child Care Committee
works to provide affordable, accessible, quality child care for
all university constituents, and raise awareness about issues
facing university families.
The “Fowl Play” fundraiser kicked off
at the new College of Human Sciences when Cy and the University
Child Care Committee delivered the goose and nest of baby Cys
to Dean Cheryl Achterberg in E262 Lagomarcino Hall.
This year’s theme is “Cy’s Nest Child Care.” Recipients
will pay a $25 “field trip” fee to have Cy “fly” the
goose and nestlings to their next destination. The nest will
be transported to the person of Dean Achterberg‘s choosing,
Jerry Thomas, professor and chair of the Department of Health
and Human Performance. He will then follow suit. Each
recipient will have 24 hours to host the flock, which proudly
bears the “Fowl Play” and Cyclone insignias and information
about University Child Care services.
Watch for “Fowl Play – Cy’s Nest Child Care” at
locations around campus or at an office near you!
All proceeds go directly to scholarships helping university
students afford quality, dependable child care. All contributions
are tax deductible.
