Committee Meeting Date: April 18, 2006

Major agenda items discussed/committee action taken:

• Discussed differences in S/C awards among Regents universities
• Update on Ombuds Search.  Discussion on no staff person being available for either position.
• 3 S/C Council members’ terms are ending.  They will be soliciting by e-mail for volunteers.
• Discussion on bleak situation for faculty & P&S raises.  After AFSCME contract, even if only 1% raises are given, ISU will be in the red.
• Two persons from UNI presidential search interviewed office staff of provost.
• Discussion on P&S motion to extend guidelines for family leave policy.  The task force is out of the provost office.  S/C would not be included due to AFSCME contract.
• Accreditation remrks were good.
• One person on S/C board will probably have her position switched to P&S due to IT combination.
• No meeting in July or August.
