Assignment of Intellectual Property
Upcoming Implementation for Current Faculty and Staff

As of June 2015 Iowa State University now includes an assignment of intellectual property in its hiring documents to assure the University can meet its obligations under the terms of sponsored research agreements and the Bayh-Dole Act. The implementation of the assignment of IP for current faculty and staff will begin this Spring.

A FAQ document regarding assignment of Intellectual Property has been created and can be found HERE.

If you have additional questions regarding assignment of intellectual property that are not addressed in the FAQ, please send them to kgoudy@iastate.edu so that Kate can compile a list of questions from P&S Employees and we can get them answered.

Campus Safety and Security

Are You Aware of What You Should Do in an Emergency?

Always call 911 in an emergency and report suspicious activity or objects to ISU Police at 515-294-4428.

Do you know the evacuation routes, severe weather shelter areas, notification plans, and AED locations in your building?  Environmental Health and Safety provides this information for each building on campus as well as the names of the weather coordinators for your area.

Do you have your contact information up-to-date in  ISU Alert?

Do you follow ISU Police on  Facebook and/or  Twitter?

During a campus emergency the ISU Homepage will be updated with additional information as it becomes available.  Additional safety and emergency information is available at www.ehs.iastate.edu/prep/students

ISU Police also offers two courses, that can be scheduled by a department or group on campus, to prepare faculty, staff, and students to respond when faced with a disturbing or violent incident: Recognizing and Reporting Disturbing Behavior (RRDB) and  Violent Incident Response Training (VIRT).

Staff Spotlights

This month we feature the the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Ally (LGBTQA+) Faculty & Staff Association (FSA).  FSA was created in 2004 for faculty and staff at Iowa State University who are interested in LGBTQA+ issues regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
