    May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to highlight strategies that support well-being and resilience. Transitions—whether personal, academic, or professional—are often exciting, but they can also be especially challenging and stressful. This session will explore why transitions can impact mental health and will provide concrete, practical tips for navigating change with greater confidence, balance, and self-compassion. Participants will leave with actionable tools they can apply immediately to support themselves through periods of transition.

  • ISU Meat Lab Tour (Opens in new tab/window)

    The Iowa State University Meats Laboratory is a federally inspected facility with the capability for slaughtering and complete processing of meat animals including cattle, hogs, sheep, and goats. It has a full complement of sausage-making equipment, mostly of small commercial production size. The lab is utilized by animal science classes, research projects, and extension programs. It available to private companies for product and process development.

    In addition to learning about the meat lab, you can also earn 25 points towards your Adventure2 goals.

    A psychologically-safe workplace ensures employees feel safe to ask questions without worrying about ridicule, judgment, or adverse evaluations. It is about role-modeling how to learn from mistakes. It is about how supervisors scaffold the skill sets of their supervisees. The content of this workshop is critical for creating spaces in which students and employees feel safe to learn and be themselves.

    Join your P&S Council's Community Relations & Advocacy Committee's tour of the ISU Stark Performance Center! This tour will include the indoor facility, weight room, academic floor and the nutritional area on the top floor, including extra time for questions. In addition to learning about this facility, you can earn 25 points towards your Adventure2 goals.

    Park in 85E, NE corner of Jack Trice. Meet at north side plaza near the Jack Trice Breaking Barriers sculpture.
