I love Iowa State University. Five words that sound simplistic, but to me, a very powerful statement. I started working at Iowa State on February 4th, 2019 as an Administrative Specialist II in the Dean's Office for the College of Engineering. Working in the Dean's Office, I am honored to work with the most fantastic staff, and get to meet wonderful students that will be shaping the future of engineering for years to come.

Along with my day to day activities in the Dean's Office, I get to coordinate our graduate college pre-commencement reception. This allows our department to show appreciation for the hard work our graduate students do to earn their Master's or PhD. I also work in conjunction with our Honors & Awards Committee, keeping track of nominations for University and College of Engineering and Alumni Awards. Starting last fall, I joined our CoE Improve U program as a mentor. I have the opportunity to be a mentor to discuss ways to improve in the workplace with my mentee, as well as achieving future goals.

Finally, I get to supervise our wonderful student employees, who provide great customer service to our guests and help our staff with various projects. I'm applying for the P&S Council because I look at it as an opportunity to give back a small part to a University that has given me so much in my 1+ years of employment. I recently attended the P&S Professional Conference, and that is what really got me interested in being on the council.
