2020 Professional & Scientific Council Elections

I have been at Iowa State University for 13 1/2 years. In January 2020, transitioned into a Finance Supervisor role with ISD and Pine tree. This role is new to the university. Currently, I lead a team of 10 specialists including grants finances specialist, procurement and expense specialists and finance specialists. Prior to that, I was a Program Coordinator in the Student Loan Education Office and Office of Student Financial Aid. I was responsible for the daily operations of the Student Loan Education Office, staffing and supervision as well as implementing a required financial education training for new freshman called Cyclone CashCourse. Along with that, my team and I were responsible for financial literacy initiatives and outreach, responsible student loan borrowing and debt management. I enjoyed conducting presentations during orientation and represented the Financial Aid Office on the University Orientation Committee.
In addition to my work at ISU, I was actively involved in our state and regional financial aid associations, recently serving as President of the Iowa Association of Financial Aid Administrators. I received a BA in Finance and a MS in Human and Family Services. I am excited to run for a position on P&S Council in order to represent my team at the university level. I look forward to this opportunity to meet more campus partners via P&S Council.
